Jaipur Food Safety Drive Uncovers Hygiene Lapses, Collects 14 Milk and Mawa Samples

Jaipur food safety officials collected 14 samples of mawa and mixed milk during a festive season inspection drive from Chithwari Mod to Ghatwara, uncovering hygiene lapses and issuing improvement notices to several establishments.

With demand for mawa, milk and sweets rising during the festive season, food safety officials in Jaipur have launched a special campaign against food adulteration. During an intensive inspection drive conducted from late Friday night to Saturday morning, the Jaipur First food safety team inspected several establishments between Chithwari Mod and Ghatwara to ensure that consumers have access to pure and safe food products.

The campaign was carried out under the directions of Food Safety and Drug Control Commissioner Dr Avichal Chaturvedi and under the leadership of Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Ravi Shekhawat.

During the inspection, the team examined several establishments, including Shri Balaji Mawa Bhandar, S.S. Dairy, Shri Shyam Mawa Paneer Udyog and Mahir Mawa Bhandar in Ghatwara, along with multiple establishments near Chithwari Mod.

Officials closely examined the incoming milk supply, the quality of raw materials and the manufacturing processes followed by the establishments.

Taking the irregularities seriously, the department issued improvement notices under the Food Safety and Standards Act to several establishments, including S.S. Dairy and M/s M.K. Enterprises.

The businesses have been instructed to maintain regular cleanliness and hygiene across their premises and ensure that all required documents are properly maintained.

Dr Ravi Shekhawat said ensuring the purity of food products during the festive season remains the department's highest priority. He made it clear that those found compromising public health would not be spared.

The department will continue its inspection and sampling operations across the district to monitor food quality and prevent adulteration, particularly during the festive period when demand for milk, mawa and sweets increases.
